Celebrate Pole Dance Day at the Riverside Studios

Event aims to challenge negative stereotypes of dance genre

Riverside Studios is hosting a special event on Sunday 1st May to celebrate the third official UK Pole Dance Day (UKPDD). It has been organised by the Equity Pole Dancers' Working Party (EPDWP) to allow pole dancing schools across the UK to demonstrate their art to members of the public. In addition to the satellite events happening nationally Hammersmith event will be the biggest UKPPD showcase to date featuring some of the UK's top pole dancers performing. This showcase aims to challenge the negative stereotypes that surround this dance genre.

The UKPDD showcase will feature an array of different pole dancing styles throughout the evening and will include jaw-dropping acts that will defy gravity.

The event starts at 7.30pm and finishes at 9pm. Seated tickets will cost just £10 and are available from the Riverside Studios website (available from April).

In addition to the evening showcase there will be a series of taster workshops from the UK's top pole dancing instructors and will start at 10.30am. Workshops will be offered at beginner (free) and intermediate level (£15) giving everyone a chance to partake.
