Hammersmith Grove Plans On Show this Week

Exhibition will display proposals for NCP Car Park

A public exhibition will be held this week in the NCP Car Park at the foot of Hammersmith Grove to show off revised plans to develop the space into offices, restaurants, shops and a new public space.

Development Securities, the company behind the plans, will be consulting both local businesses and the public at the exhibition.

The exhibition, which is open to all local people, will take place on site at the NCP Car Park at the following times:

Thursday 8th July 2010, 2pm - 8pm
Friday 9th July 2010, 2pm - 6pm
Saturday 10th July 2010, 10am - 4pm

Development Securities says the site has been undeveloped for a very long time and the existing use as a non-descript surface car park is out of keeping with the vibrant transformation of this part of Hammersmith town centre, particularly Lyric Square.

Development Director Simon Hesketh says: : “We are committed to this important site and we recognize that the market has undergone a significant shift since the original scheme won planning permission in May 2007.

" We have been working extensively on the new designs and the current proposal has evolved with the benefit of detailed and ongoing consultation with planning officers and forums as well as resident and interest groups. We believe that the revised scheme reflects the current market.”

Included in the plans is modern office space in two buildings, provision of high quality retail and restaurant space, the creation of new public open space together with new community facilities.
