Lyric Announces Christmas Plans

Jack and the Beanstalk and Baking Time

The Lyric Hammersmith has announced its plans for this year's Christmas family entertainment.

The pantomime will be the classic, Jack and the Beanstalk with Tom Robertson as Jack, Martyn Ellis as the Dame and Javier Marzan playing the cow, El Especial!

The panto is written by Richard Bean, Joel Horwood, Morgan Lloyd Malcolm & Ché Walker, and Directed by Steve Marmion

Jack and the Beanstalk will open on November 21 and will then run from November 25 until January 9 with both afternoon and evening perfomances.

Children's theatre company Oily Cart is also returning to the Lyric Hammersmith to present Christmas Baking Time - a special festive feast for three to six year-olds.

Christmas Baking Time finds two playful bakers, played by Jumoke Oke and Griff Fender, sifting through magical flour storms with mischievous doughy characters amidst shelves of baking ingredients and utensils. Griff and Jumoke, who play Baker Bun and Baker Bap, will be inviting audience members, both young and old to join in the fun and become bakers themselves.

Christmas Baking Time, written and directed by Tim Webb with music by Max Reinhardt, will run from Friday November 27 until January 3.

The Lyric is also hosting Christmas Famil Sundays on December 20 and January 3, when children can get creative in Messy Play or have fun in Party Play workshop. And says Serina Aaloo-Gordon,   Lyric Hammersmith’s Producer for Children & Families: " There will be lots of free activities in our foyer for families to get involved in during this festive season."
