Celebrate his 446th birthday at Hammersmith Library

They will present Henry Condell - The Fulham Connection with the First Folio, a platform performance of Shakespeare scenes
and a talk on who was involved in the first printed edition of the 36 plays.

Henry Condell and John Heminges were two actors in Shakespeare’s company The King’s Men, who were driven to assemble the manuscripts, prompt books and play texts, ‘faire and foule copies’, and manoeuvre them through all the
hurdles involving printers, compositors, publishers and booksellers of the 1620s, to eventually produce the first printed versions of the plays that would have
otherwise been lost to us.

Then Henry retired to a nice little place in Fulham!

This event, starting at 6pm in Hammersmith Central Library, Shepherds Bush Road, is the 7th in a series of Shakespeare Shuffles. These shuffles, supported by Equity the Performers’
Union and NUT National Union of Teachers, will run bi-monthly in local venues until the official London Games Cultural Festiva, which will run from April to August 2012.
