St Peter's Church Hosts Midsummer Gala Celebration Concert

Enjoy choral and vocal music by Il Corpo Cantante along with summer refreshments

St Peter's Church in Black Lion Lane is hosting a Midsummer Gala Celebration Concert presented by Il Corpo Cantante on June 21 at 7pm.

Il Corpo Cantante founder and director Ashley Stafford celebrates his 60 years on planet earth, 40 years of professional music-making and 20 years as a practicing osteopath at the Midsummer Gala Celebration Concert, featuring singers from Finland, Japan, the USA and the UK.

The concert is directed by Marco Ozbic, chorus master of the Finnish National Opera, and will raise money to establish a fund for bursaries to support the development of singers from all backgrounds and nationalities through their workshops, courses and concerts.

The programme of choral and vocal music ranges from Bach and Monteverdi through to Verdi and Wagner.

Ticket price includes traditional summer refreshments, Pimm’s and fizz with strawberries and cream.

Il Corpo Cantante says it is delighted that David Coram, organist and director of music at St Peter’s Church, will be playing the newly restored organ, performing alongside pianist and repetiteur Nick Fletcher. The orchestra will be led by Nicola Garty.

Tickets priced £20 or £15 concessions are available in advance from Ticketsource or at the door on the night.
