Two Donations Made From The Tempest at St Peter's Square

Upper Room & St Peter’s Church Benefit

The Festival Players Theatre Company, performances of The Tempest last weekend in St Peter’s Square was a success and small contributions to both The Upper Room and the St. Peter’s Church Windows Appeal, were made a member of Shakespeare in the Square said.

In spite of the rather scorched grass in St. Peter’s Square, many guests spread out their rugs and set up chairs to enjoy their picnic and glasses of chilled liquids prior to the performances. The Credit Protection Association generously supported the production again this year. Several friends and neighbours in the Square also gave contributions. Raj and Asha Sethi from Efficient Stationers kindly provided advance ticket sales.

The donations, taking from the box-office all helped towards the contributions that have gone to the two local charities.

The Shakespeare in the Square Association thanked all donors for their contributions despite a tough economic environment and provide next year’s dates for the Festival Players’ performance of The Taming of the Shrew on Saturday, 9th and Sunday, 10th July in St. Peter’s Square.
