New Places to Eat in Hammersmith Town Centre


Two new cafes and Lyric Bar and Grill add to vast local choice

King Street has added two new cafes and a bar and grill to its vast choice of eating places.

At the Lyric on Lyric Square, Peyton and Byrne have opened a modern British bakery and café on the ground floor, serving an all day menu including speciality coffee and Chelsea buns at breakfast, salads and hand-made pies at lunch time, modern cakes and sweet treats throughout the day as well as sour dough bakes and quality wines in the evening.

The cafe is also hosting regular culinary masterclasses including craft beer tasting, cake decorating and barista training.

Peyton and Byrne at the Lyric is open from 8am till 8pm daily.

On the first floor, the Lyric Bar and Grill is open from noon till 11pm serving street food such as beer-fed Dexter beef with watercress and blackened fillet of sea bass with chilli pickle served on handmade pita wraps, as well as a special kids' menu.

For theatre goers and those looking for a snack there are sharing platters, bites from the bar including Peyton and Byrne specialities such as handmade gourmet sausage roll and piccalilli.

Options for the little ones including the ‘Fat Sam hot dog’ inspired by the Lyric’s current production Bugsy Malone and grilled chicken with butter beans, hummus, tomato and lettuce in a soft wrap.

During the summer months the Lyric Roof Garden is transformed into a barbecue station with a seasonal food and drink menu including fresh summer salads, a selection of gourmet burgers, grilled fish, summer cocktail jugs and a wide selection of craft beers and wine.

Patisserie Valerie

Around the corner in King Street, Patisserie Valerie is now open next to the Kings Mall entrance, from 7am till 6pm six days a week and 8am till 7pm on Sundays.

The cafe, part of a chain launched in 1926 by Madame Valerie herself offers everything from continental patisseries to a summer menu which offers a two to three course meal.

" We are delighted to have a new store based in vibrant Hammersmith and look forward to welcoming new and existing customers for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, cakes and coffee.” said Julie Armstrong, Senior Ops Manager.

The cafe also offers a range of celebration cakes in store and online or you can create a cake and collect it.
