Police Investigate Shooting in Stamford Brook

Officers from Met's Trident branch have begun investigations

Police cordoned off a large area around Stamford Brook earlier today (Tuesday 22nd September) after a man was shot.

Bath Road and Stamford Brook Road were closed to traffic near the junction of Emlyn Road and Prebend Gardens.

Reports say that a 24 year old man had collapsed and was rushed by air ambulance to a hospital in east London where he remains in a stable condition.

He was found at the junction of Prebend Gardens and Bath Road, Chiswick, but police believe he was shot in Ealing.

An eye witness said they had seen an air ambulance land on Stamford Brook Common and take a person away.

Two arrests are believed to have been made at the scene.

There are unconfirmed reports of a car chase in the vicinity of the incident earlier in the day but it is not known if the two events are linked.

Officers from the Met's Trident branch are in charge of the investigation.
