'Perfect Son' slain in botched robbery

15 year old Kieran Rodney-Davis stabbed on Daisy Lane

Police have made three arrests following the murder of a 15 year old boy in Fulham. Three youths aged between 16 and 17 were arrested in their South West London homes in the early hours of Saturday morning.

In what at this stage appears to be a robbery gone badly wrong, Kieran Rodney-Davis was stabbed in the chest after becoming involved in an altercation with three youths on Daisy Lane at around 2.35 on Wednesday afternoon (23/6/2004). From what police know so far, Kieran was stopped by the gang and searched, then stabbed even though he offered no resistance.

A group of around three male youths - believed to be black - made off on foot from the scene. All are believed to be about 15 years old, and were wearing balaclavas or bandana-style scarves over their faces. One of these balaclavas or masks is believed to have been red.

The incident took place outside Hurlingham and Chelsea School at after Kieran's mother had sent him out on a shopping errand. Kieran, who was a short walk from his home, was taken to Chelsea & Westminster Hospital but was confirmed dead an hour later.

He was studying GCSEs and a media studies course at a school in Shepherds Bush. His mother Antoinette Rodney said, "It's all wrong. He was only 15 years old and he's never been in trouble before. He was never in a group and was always helping people and helping his gran go shopping, and then this happens."

An incident room has opened at Barnes under Detective Chief Inspector Dave Little [Specialist Crime Directorate]. He said: "At this early stage we believe this may have been a robbery who turned into the tragic murder of a teenager. We have received the full assistance of the community but need further help from the public to track down those responsible."

Any witnesses or anyone with information should contact the incident room on 020-8247 7821; if you wish to remain call Crimestoppers 0800 555 111.
