Music and Poetry at Kelmscott House by Zadok Baroque

18th Century Period Musical Matinee

This charming matinee recital unites music provided by a fine period instrument ensemble with poetry readings from the late 18th century evoking the age of enlightenment to an intimate audience on Sunday 14th November: 2:15pm at Kelmscott House

Members of Zadok Baroque (Byron Mahoney, Nick Jackman & Michael Mullen) will provide an unusual, yet most sweet, combination of two period classical flutes with a 5-string "piccolino" cello to play works by classical composers C.F. Abel, F.A. Hoffmeister and F.J. "Papa" Haydn.

Poetry readings from the period will be read by "Ever Decreasing Circles" TV actress Geraldine Newman and critically acclaimed playwright Dino Mahoney.

"Zadok Baroque" are a group of local musicians who are dedicated to playing baroque and classical music on authentic instruments. This matinee concert will be given at the charming riverside setting of Kelmscott House, late home of William Morris and one of London's best kept secret venues (http://www.morrissociety.org/2010uk.html).
