Latymer Upper School Appoints New Head

Cardinal Vaughan old boy to take charge next year

A new Head has been appointed to take over the leadership of Latymer Upper School from September 2012 upon the retirement of the current Head, Peter Winter.

Following a rigorous selection process by the Governors, David Goodhew will become the Head. David is currently Deputy Head at Durham School where he was appointed in 2008.

David Goodhew was brought up in Hammersmith and attended Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School before going to Corpus Christi, Oxford. He graduated from there with a First Class degree in Classics.

David is 40 and is engaged to be married in the summer of 2012 to Céline, a junior doctor. He is a keen cyclist and violinist, and regularly performs with the Orchestra North East.

David has a deep understanding of the ethos and values of Latymer and he shares the Governors’ vision and strategy for the School which aims to provide a first class liberal education to children of the highest calibre.

The Governors were unanimous in their decision to appoint David and are delighted that he will be joining the school in September 2012.

Peter Winter announced in March that he would be retiring in August 2012 following 10 years at the school.
