Burst Water Main Floods Chiswick High Road

And covers stretch of pavement making it impossible for pedestrians to use

A burst water main flooded part of Chiswick High Road on Tuesday 22nd January. The water also covered a stretch of pavement and made it impossible for pedestrians to use bus stops and a number of the High Road crossings.

A number of residents reported losing their water supply completely whilst others just experienced low pressure.

Problems with Chiswick's water pressure have become more regular since Thames Water replaced the ageing Victorian pipes. Reports of burst mains, flooding and low pressure from both residents and businesses along the High Road and it's adjacent streets have certainly become more frequent.

Thames Water, who spent a number of hours trying to repair the pipe, are still unsure what caused it to burst but thought it could have something to do with the unseasonably warm weather.
