Local resident Michelle Newell 'overjoyed' to discover she had won

Michelle Newell, a resident of Stamford Brook, was overjoyed to discover that she had won the Edward d'Arc Buyers Prize in Artists at Home this year.

Having visited eight studios - the minimum requirement for entering the draw - she forgot all about it until she received a phone call.

Michelle, who is an Education Consultant and originally from Australia, opted to spend the money on a painting by the artist George Christie, whose work she had greatly admired over the weekend.

Edward d'Arc is the principle sponsors of Artists at Home.

Derek Fletcher said, "We are very happy to support this dynamic scheme; properties and art are natural partners".
