Man Dies on Rail Tracks at West Brompton Station

Pronounced dead at scene after being hit by District Line train

A man has died after being hit by a train at West Brompton station at around 4pm yesterday, January 5.

Officers from British Transport Police and Metropolitan Police Service were called to the tube station shortly after 4pm on Tuesday after reports a person had been struck by a train on District Line tracks.

Paramedics from London Ambulance Service attended, but pronounced the man dead at the scene.

A British Transport Police spokesman said the incident is being treated as non-suspicious.

The man, whose age is not yet known, has not yet been identified and officers say they are working to trace and inform his family.

District line services between Earls Court and Wimbledon were suspended in both directions and Old Brompton Road was partially blocked while emergency services attended the scene.

TfL says tube services resumed with minor delays at about 5pm.
