Appeal for Witnesses to Fatal North End Road Crash

Motorcyclist died after being hit by car last Monday at junction of Star Road

Police are appealing for witnesses to a road traffic collision which took place last Monday in North End Road, W14 and led to the death of a motorcyclist.

Police say that on Monday, March 4 at approximately 9.40pm officers and London Ambulance Service were called to North End Road at the junction of Star Road, following reports of a collision involving a motor vehicle and motorcycle.

The vehicles involved were an Audi A3 and a Triumph motorcycle.

The rider of the motorcycle, a 26 year old man, was treated at the scene by the London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance.

He was taken to St Mary's Hospital, but died from his injuries on Tuesday, March 5.

Police say that his next of kin have been informed. A post mortem examination took place on Friday, March 8 and an inquest will be opened and adjourned in due course.

All parties stopped at the scene, and DS Jeff Edwards, who is leading the investigation, says:
"I am grateful for a number of people who stopped at the scene to assist both the casualty and other driver that night.

"Despite this being evening time, this stretch of road was fairly busy with commuters and I would urge anyone who may have seen any of the parties in the moments leading up to the collision, or the collision itself, to contact police."

Anyone with information is asked to call the Road Death Investigation Unit at Hampton Traffic Garage's witness appeal line on 020 8941 9011.
