Woman Raped in Shepherd's Bush


Attack occurred near car wash on Goldhawk Road

An appeal has been made for witness following the rape of a woman in Shepherd's Bush in the early hours of Tuesday morning (28th June).

The victim was walking past a disused car wash at the junction of Goldhawk Road with Hammersmith Grove when she was approached by a man. He pulled her into the car wash where she was raped. He ran off after the attack along Goldhawk Road towards Shepherd's Bush Road.

The woman approached a passing pedestrian and the police were called at around 1.40am.

The suspect is described as a white male, short stocky build, clean shaven with a round face. He was wearing a T-shirt and jeans.

Detective Sergeant Jack Smith, of Sapphire, said: "The victim was understandably frightened by this incident and has been supported by specialist officers whilst enquiries have been taking place. I would ask witnesses or anyone with information to contact Sapphire at Fulham police station on 020 8246 2306."
