Hammersmith Teen Jailed for Carnival Stabbing


Victim found in Ladbroke Grove with wounds to stomach and hand

A 17 year-old from Hammersmith has been sentenced to jail for stabbing a man on the evening of the Notting Hill Carnival.

Junior Henry, of Weltje Road in W6 was sentenced on Thursday, November 24 to four and a half years imprisonment at the Old Bailey.

Police say that shortly after 6pm on Monday August 19, officers were alerted to an incident in Ladbroke Grove at the junction with Oxford Gardens.

A 20 year-old man was found at the scene suffering from stab wounds to the abdomen and hand, and was taken by London Ambulance Service to a central London hospital for treatment.

The following day, Tuesday August 30, Junior Henry was arrested in west London and he was subsequently accused of GBH with intent.

He appeared at West London Youth Court on August 31 and subsequently pleaded guilty to the offence at Isleworth Crown Court.
