W14's New Arts Festival Reaches Final Weekend

Kensington Olympia Festival closes with gala concert and special mass

The first Kensington Olympia Festival of Music and the Arts comes to an end this weekend with a gala concert and special festival mass.

The Kensington Olympia Festival of Music and the Arts, or KOFMA for short, is being held in the beautiful parish church of St. Matthew, Kensington Olympia, on the corner of Sinclair, Masbro and Fielding Roads.

On Saturday, September 19th, there will be a gala concert with local singers of all abilities taking part in an evening concert of The Faure Requiem, Hallelujah Chorus and Jerusalem, conducted by Jeremy Summerly.

The concert will also include the Lallemant Trio playing Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring and a miscellany of opera arias.

People who want to join in the singing can go along to a rehearsal at 1.30pm on Saturday.

The festival will close on Sunday morning with a special mass in St Matthews at 11am, under the auspices of conductor Mile Lallemant and celebrant and preacher the Rt Revd Jonathan Baker.

St. Matthew’s will be open from early until late to provide light refreshments and a bar will be selling drinks during the evening concerts.
