Principal "Delighted" by Results at William Morris

Almost all 400 students achieve A* - E grades

Kevin Gilmartin, Principal at William Morris Sixth Form said he was "absolutely delighted" with A Level results at his school, where 97.7% pupils achieved A*-E grades.

Among the 400 who took their exams at the school in St Dunstan's Road was star student Tadaoki Hashimoto. The 18 year-old was thrilled with his six passes, achieving an incredible four A* grades and two As.

The results mean that he is William Morris’ highest achieving student this year and put him in pole position for the title of the best results in the borough.

Tadaoki said: " I was really nervous because I thought I messed up a few exams. So to do so well is fantastic. I can't wait to go to uni but I will miss William Morris. It is an excellent sixth form."

He will now go on to study biomedical science at Queen Mary University of London, in the East End.

Mr Gilmartin said: " It is getting tougher and tougher each year to keep standards high and we feel we are doing that.

" Our priority now is to work with our students who missed out on their first choices and help them with their important decisions."
