Met Office Warns Heavy Snow Coming to West London

But still too early to predict a White Christmas

The Met Office has issued a severe weather warning for the South East of England and says that heavy snow is on its way to West London later today and throughout Friday, December 18.

The Met adds that some drifting snow is likely in the strong north to northeasterly wind, which could cause disruption to travel networks.

Temperatures in the snow could plunge to -3.

Met Office Chief Forecaster, Andy Page, says: " Eastern parts of England are expected to bear the brunt of the heaviest snowfall. "

The Met predicts the run-up to the festive period remains crisp and seasonal with some hard frosts overnight.

However, it is still too early to say what the weather on Christmas Day itself will be, with a battle taking place over the UK between cold air over the country and milder air trying to push up from the south.
