David Miliband Visits Hammersmith on Friday

Meetings with residents and general public

Foreign Secretary David Miliband will visit Hammersmith to meet local residents' groups and the general public on Friday, February 19.

Mr Miliband, who is the visiting as guest of Andy Slaughter MP, Labour candidate for the new Parliamentary seat, will answer questions from residents at an open public meeting taking place at St Paul’s Church in Hammersmith Broadway between 6.30pm and 8pm.

All local residents are welcome to attend and ask questions, on local and national as well as international concerns.

Before that, Mr Miliband will visit a local housing estate and will also attend a smaller gathering at the Irish Cultural Centre, across the road from St Paul's Church, for users of the Centre and local residents' groups who would like to hear his views on a variety of issues.

This gathering will take place between 5.20pm and 6pm on Friday. If you would like to attend, call the centre on 020 85638232 or email info@irishculturalcentre.co.uk.

The Foreign Secretary however, could be faced with a protest from anti-war activists who are promising to gather outside the church wearing orange jumpsuits and hoods and waving placards and banners.
