Grand Designs for W6 and W12

Theatre for Hammersmith and 'large development' in White City

Exciting new developments are planned for Hammersmith and Shepherds Bush in the coming months.

The London Academy of Music and Art (LAMDA) in Talgarth Road will submit a planning application to expand their building and build a new theatre.

The leading drama academy near Barons Court Station has been in talks with local residents in Margravine Gardens and Talgarth Road about the plans as well as local councillors.

Conservative councillor at Hammersmith and Fulham Council, Paul Bristow, said: “It is a very difficult site - squashed between the tube line and the very busy Talgarth Road.  What the designers have come up with is interesting.  I look forward to seeing what local residents make of the plans.”

More information is available by emailing development@lamda.org.uk.

Close to the White City Shopping Centre, plans are being discussed for a large development in the White City Opportunity Area which is joint owned by the BBC and two property developers.

A borough-wide consultation will be launched in September over the development, which Shepherd’s Bush MP promises will make the Westfield Shopping Centre look like ‘small beer’.
