False Alert on World War II Bomb at Trussley Road

Tube delays result

Tube passengers in Hammersmith faced delays on a false alert that an unexploded Second World War bomb had been found under the tracks.

Police closed off roads either side of the railway arches under the elevated Hammersmith and City and Circle Line track, between Hammersmith and Goldhawk Road stations, after the suspected bomb was discovered near Trussley Road

It turned out to be a false alarm, and the operation was stood down after 20 minutes. The incident is continuing to cause minor delays on Tube lines serving Hammersmith and Shepherd's Bush.
