Local man hands himself into Police after knife point raid
An unemployed local man, Paul Trevor Galloway, age 50, appears to have handed himself into the police just moments after he carried out a robbery at knifepoint.
The incident happened in the morning of 11th April when the suspect (thought to be Galloway) is reported to have approached a member of staff in the Chelsea Building Society on North End Road and threatened him by holding a knife to his neck.
The suspect then forced the employee to walk to the counter where he threw a bag on the counter and demanded that staff put the money into it.
Members of staff got out what was described as a 6" wad of money and placed it into the bag whilst the suspect continued to hold the knife to victim’s neck.
The bag was then handed to suspect who ran away out of the front door of the building society onto North End Road.
Whilst Police were dealing with the incident at the scene, a male matching the description of the suspect turned up at Fulham Police Station in possession of a knife and bag.
He was immediately arrested and subsequently interviewed where he admitted the offence.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates court on the 12th April. Here he was further remanded in custody to appear at Kingston crown court on the 24th April.
