Distraction Burglary Brook Green
On 27th February at 6.38pm on Brook Green two knocked on a 78 year old woman's door posing as workmen. They said they needed to check pipework and asked her to fill a bucket for them. The lady went into the kitchen to fill the bucket but when she returned the men had gone. She does not know if they went into any other rooms within the flat, however she stated that nothing had been taken or appeared to have been disturbed.
The first man was a white male aged around 30, wearing blue trousers. The second was a white male, olive skin, spotty complexion, 5'8 in height, short jet-black hair, spoke in an Irish accent, wearing a Olive green bomber jacket with gold zip.
Burglary Artifice Black Lion Lane
On February 18th at 5pm on Black Lion Lane a 69 year old man answered his door to a person claiming to be a nurse. He was shown ID through the gap in the door held by the chain. When he opened the door the man pushed past him and went straight into the living room he then closed the curtains. By the time the householder got back into the room the man was going through his drawers. The victim went to ring the police but the man pushed him out of the way and started pressing any numbers on the phone. The victim then hit the panic button around his neck at which point the man ran form the premises, taking £5.00, which he found in the victim's wallet.
The suspect is described as a black male aged around 25 6ft 1', athletic build, short black hair wearing black jeans/jumper and coat.
Distraction Burglary Dalling Road
On February 18th at around 2.50 pm an 83 year old woman was sitting on a chair on her landing outside her flat in Dalling Road when a man walked through the door and stated that he was from the water board. He said he was visiting because there had been complaints of discoloured water coming out of the mains.
She opened her front door to go and check the water and the man walked in behind her before she could shut the door. He followed her into the kitchen and encouraged her to turn the tap on and stay in the kitchen until he had checked the water in the drain. She became suspicious and challenged him. After she threatened to hit him with her walking stick he fled the property via the front door and down the communal stairs. He is described as bald, 5ft 10' wearing a red round neck jumper.
