Best play, musical and newcomer
The Lyric Hammersmith has been shortlisted for three Evening Standard Theatre Awards for Punk Rock, its critically acclaimed co-production with the Royal Exchange, Manchester and for the groundbreaking musical Spring Awakening.
The awards are in the following categories:
Best play - Punk Rock by Simon Stephens
The Ned Sherrin Award for Best Musical - Spring Awakening
The Milton Shulman Award for Outstanding Newcomer - Tom Sturridge, Punk Rock
The winners will be announced on November 23 at the Royal Opera House.
Punk Rock has also been nominated for four Manchester Evening News Theatre Awards in the following categories:
Best New Play
Best Production
Best Newcomer- Tom Sturridge
Best Actress in a Supporting Role- Jessica Raine
The winners of these awards will be announced at a ceremony on December 8.
